1957 – 2022
IN LOVING MEMORY
Sandra Dee Augustus

Life Story
God saw the roads had gotten rough and the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed his loving eyes and whispered. "Peace be Thine". The worried hours, the days of pain and the sleepless nights have passed. The wornout frame has found sweet rest at last. Life is a road that winds among the hills of time. With every turn in the road, and old view vanishes, and a new vision appears.
On Monday, December 26, 2022 Sandra Dee Augustus was called home to be with the lord. Sandra was born February 2, 1957 to the late Wadell James Augustus and Williana Howard Augustus in Shreveport, LA. She was the beloved sister of Cynthia Augustus-Randle, Debbie Augustus and Darlene Augustus, brothers Wendell Augustus, Donald Celestine Howard and Ricky Augustus. Beloved Cousin Minister Paulette Johnson and Cousin Jolene Austin, Goddaughter Lakeisha Alexander, Godson Dameon Johnson and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
At an early age Sandra gave her life to God, although she grew up as a Baptist believer, she later converted to Catholicism. Sandra's strong faith in God was unshakeable, even after knowing how sick she was, she continued to have faith to believe in her healing. Sandra loved life, family, people and traveling, she loved cooking up her favorite cuisines red beans and rice and seafood gumbo, especially for her loved ones. In gatherings Sandra would quickly become the life of the party. Sandra had a generous heart, prayed daily and had a friendship with many, a bond with her companion Lee Oscar Rice that lasted over 30 years. Sandra delighted the simple things, lived with gratitude and refused to give up when things got tough.
Sandra attended Morningside High School and Northridge College. She worked for Kurl and Jobe Orthopedic Center, Morris, Polich and Purdy, LLP, LA County and LA City Election Division for many years in which she enjoyed tremendously.
Her love will forever be cherished by the hearts and lives of the people she touched. Although she will be missed, we take refuge in knowing she is in a better place. Her assignment on this earth had been completed.
