Hector's family chose Lighten's Backyard Memorial to celebrate his life. Family and friends gathered at a scenic location along the river, holding a beautiful ceremony under a large canopy tent where attendees shared in prayer and reflections about Hector and how he had touched their lives. Hector's cremated remains were present for the gathering and the family chose to incorporate an emotional scattering ceremony into the celebration of life. To bring the gathering to a close, all in attendance released a balloon to honor Hector - this was such a beautiful and fitting tribute to their loved one. Following the close of the ceremony, guests attended a reception where they were able to continue sharing memories and celebrating a life well-lived.
Unfortunately, Harvey and Betsy, a loving couple, passed away within a few short weeks of each other. Their families decided to honor their beautiful lives together with an online ceremony. The family was able to include family and friends that would have been unable to attend an in-person service. A wonderful addition to the ceremony was a Memorial Tribute Video that had four segments of meaningful music and pictures that corresponded to different periods of their lives.
Dick’s family chose to have an online ceremony during the height of the pandemic to keep everyone safe and to include their family members from all over the country. Dick’s four children live in three different times zones, but they were able to meet virtually to plan a lovely tribute of his life. His family chose to honor his love of beer, by offering a toast to open the ceremony and another one to close the ceremony. They chose to honor his life with special tributes from each of his children and a lovely Memorial Tribute Video of photos from his life.
Genita’s family chose the Lighten Preferred Package. They live in three different time zones and were unable to gather in one location to honor Genita’s life. Our main planning contacts were Genita’s two granddaughters who helped to create a service that truly embodied who Genita was. To add to the meaningful ceremony, Genita’s other granddaughter facilitated the ceremony. Genita loved and cherished her family and the way so many family members were involved in her service was a testament to how many people’s lives she touched.
Pete's fiancée selected Lighten's Big Screen Memorial to gather his many friends for a truly spectacular tribute to this larger than life man. Pete was known by many as a successful businessman and generous philanthropist but those that were privileged enough to call him a friend knew that Pete lived for his friends and that for him - friends were family! This large "family of friends" was able to come together at The Davis Theater and celebrate their friend on the stage and on the big screen. One after another they took to the stage to share remembrances and stories of their time with Pete. They were also able to view a moving Memorial Tribute Video on the theater's big screen before moving into the theater's Carbon Arc Bar & Board to eat and drink, remember and reminisce, and toast the man they all knew and loved.
