IN LOVING MEMORY
John Calvin Crombie

John Calvin (Cal) Crombie
July 11, 1944 - November 15, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Cal Crombie of Lillooet, BC on the morning of November 15, 2021. Cal was born in Love, Saskatchewan on July 11, 1944 to a large family. He married Fay Rice on November 11th, 1973 and together they raised their 2 daughters Sherry and Sara in the communities of Tappen, Mara and finally Lillooet.
Cal was a lifetime forester. He loved being outdoors and a part of the natural world. He would often remark that Canada was one of the most beautiful places in the world and we were fortunate to live here. Family and friends enjoyed his easy-going personality and knew that he was always at-ready to help anyone who needed it. It is befitting that one of his last acts was to cut firewood to support folks in his community.
Cal was a spiritual man who thought deeply about the Bible and came to his own independent conclusions. He wanted to one day write a book about the Disciple Paul because he had original ideas that he wanted to add to the dialogue. He had unanswered questions but remained a man of faith.
Cal knew how to work hard. When he had time off from logging he would work on his vehicles or pursue his hobby of staking claims and mining them for gold.
Cal is survived by his brothers Walter (Jan), Robert (Edna), Steve (Mary), Ed (Andrea), Marv (Dorothy), Roy, William (Kara), and sisters Alice (Howard), Muriel (Maynard), and Dorothy his 2 daughters Sherry LaChance (Dave) and Sara Mayo (Austin), grandchildren Summer, Cody (Angela), Connor, Luke (Jaiden), Josiah (Kyahna), and Sapphire, great grandchildren Bentley, Embersly, Penelo-Pea, Hazel and Lillyanna.
He was predeceased by his father Walter Crombie, his mother Mary Crombie, his brother Floyd Crombie, and his wife Fay Crombie.
